Performing Bindings: Binding Techniques At Work

Join the Auckland Libraries’ Rare Book Curators to view some of the extraordinary book bindings from our Private Press Collections. You’ll see examples of binding techniques ranging over three hundred years with work by Auckland based binders including Elizabeth Steiner and international book artists. We’re extending this invite as it will include a binding from J T Mackelvie’s collection.

The sessions are in the Whare Wānanga on level 2 of the Central Library, Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero will give you a chance to get up close and see the bindings in operation.
